City of Knowledge was created by Law 6 of February 10, 1998 as a knowledge platform focused on improving Panama's innovation capabilities. Located on 120 hectares of the former Clayton military base, facing the Miraflores Locks, it houses universities, research centers, international organizations, and technology companies working on innovation, science, and humanities.
